After the Birds took a 1-0 lead in the first frame on an RBI groundout by John Lowenstein, the Sox pounded Steve Stone for six straight hits -- five coming after a 63-minute rain delay -- with Bill Almon driving in one run, Tony Bernazard contributing a two-run double and Wayne Nordhagen and Lamar Johnson delivering run-scoring singles.
