. . . where the 1970s live forever!

Richie Zisk singled in a run in the first inning -- running his hitting streak to 15 games -- after Tom Paciorek doubled home the first run of the inning in leading the Mariners to a 3-1 victory over the Tigers. Seattle added an unearned tally in the second when Lenny Randle walked, was sacrificed to second, moved to third on an errant pickoff attempt by Detroit starter Dan Petry and came home on Joe Simpson's groundout. Floyd Bannister, who gave up Lou Whitaker's first homer of the season in the fifth, combined with Dick Drago on a seven-hitter. [The Sporting News]
