. . . where the 1970s live forever!

The Orioles maintained their mastery over the Blue Jays in Baltimore, sweeping a twi-night doubleheader, 4-3 and 8-3. It was the Jays' 19th consecutive loss in Baltimore since July, 1978. Jose Morales won the opener with a ninth-inning double, scoring Lenn Sakata, who had singled and gone to second on Ken Singleton's sacrifice. The hit came after the Jays thought they had gotten Morales on a called third strike. Catcher Ernie Whitt was ejected for protesting ump Larry Barnett's call.

Jim Palmer pitched a complete game for the victory, and Scott McGregor hurled another complete game in the nightcap, scattering seven hits. The Orioles scored five runs after two were out in the sixth, highlighted by Eddie Murray's two-run single. [The Sporting News]
