. . . where the 1970s live forever!

The Expos halted Fernando Valenzuela's latest scoreless streak at 35 2/3 innings, but the rookie sensation held on to extend his record to 6-0 as the Dodgers knocked off the Expos, 6-1 in 10 innings. The lefty pitched the first nine stanzas and allowed only five hits.

The lone run off him was only the second in 54 innings this season for an ERA of 0.33. The game was tied, 1-1, when the Dodgers broke it open in the 10th on run-scoring singles by Reggie Smith and Ken Landreaux, a sacrifice fly by Dusty Baker and two-run single by Steve Garvey. [The Sporting News]
