Jim Gantner drilled a bases-loaded double to key a four-run seventh inning and Robin Yount smacked two homers as the Brewers overpowered the Mariners, 9-5. The game was tied, 5-5, when the Brewers loaded the sacks in the seventh on a double by Simmons, fielder's choice grounder by Thomas on which Simmons was thrown out at third, a single by Don Money and a walk to pinch-hitter Roy Howell.

Gantner's two-bagger drove in two runs, a single by Yount drove in another and the final tally came on a throwing error by left fielder Dan Meyer. Yount clouted a two-run round-tripper in the third and fired a solo blast in the sixth.
