. . . where the 1970s live forever!
Going the distance for the fifth time in six starts and becoming the league's first six-game winner, Mike Norris hurled the A's to a 6-2 victory over the Tigers as Wayne Gross led Oakland's attack with four hits, including a homer and a pair of doubles.

Gross' second two-bagger drove in Dave Revering with Oakland's first run in the fourth inning and the third baseman cracked a solo homer in the sixth. A fifth-inning round-tripper by Dwayne Murphy accounted for the A's second run. [The Sporting News]
