Greg Minton pitched 2 2/3 innings of scoreless relief to preserve a 6-4 victory for the Giants over the Mets. The Giants scored in the first inning on a bases-loaded walk to Jerry Martin and put the game away with a three-run sixth on a sacrifice fly by Billy Smith and run-scoring singles by Enos Cabell and Jack Clark.
