Dave Revering, whose eighth-inning homer had tied the score at 4-4, started the winning surge with a single and, after Tony Armas struck out, moved to third on a single by Wayne Gross and scored on a single by Mike Heath. Shooty Babbit then grounded into a forceout and the Brewers walked Jeff Newman intentionally to load the bases.
