A two-run homer by Brian Downing climaxed a four-run eighth inning that rallied the Angels to a 4-3 triumph over the Tigers. The Angels were behind, 3-0, when Butch Hobson led off the bottom of the eighth with a single. One out later, Rick Burleson singled, Hobson stopping at second.
