Bruce Benedict's two-out single in the 10th inning drove home Chris Chambliss to give the Braves a 3-2 triumph over the Pirates and hand Pittsburgh reliever Kent Tekulve his second loss this season and ninth straight setback over the last two seasons. Chambliss stroked a one-out single to start the uprising. After Glenn Hubbard coaxed a walk from Tekulve, Benedict clubbed the winning hit. The Braves had deadlocked the contest in the sixth on a solo homer by Hubbard.
