Exploding for five runs in the fifth inning, the Blue Jays downed the Orioles, 5-2, as Dave Stieb went the route on a four-hitter. Barry Bonnell began the outburst with a walk, reached second on a single by Garth Iorg but was forced at third on a grounder by Danny Ainge.

Buck Martinez then drilled a two-run double and came in on a double by Alfredo Griffin that sent Jim Palmer to the showers. Lloyd Moseby greeted reliever Sammy Stewart with a run-scoring single and, one out later, John Mayberry capped the rally with an RBI double. [The Sporting News]
