The Pirates gained a 7-5 triumph for their first victory over the Braves in 12 meetings as Tony Pena stroked a bases-loaded single in the top of the 13th inning. The score was tied, 5-5, when Tommy Boggs took over the pitching chores for Atlanta in the 13th and walked the bases full before Pena delivered a chopper over shortstop that enabled two runs to score. The Braves had tied the contest in the eighth on a run-scoring single by Terry Harper after the Bucs took a 5-4 lead in the top of that frame on a solo homer by Mike Easler. [The Sporting News]
