The Twins tied the game in the sixth with RBI singles by John Castino, Pete Mackanin and Ron Jackson, a two-run double by Dave Engle and sacrifice fly by Mickey Hatcher, and went ahead in the seventh when Hatcher singled home Gary Ward.
