Ben Oglivie rapped two singles and a triple and drove in two runs to spark the Brewers to a 3-0 victory over the A's. Oglivie drilled a run-scoring single in the first inning following a single by Roy Howell and walk to Gorman Thomas. Milwaukee raised its margin to 2-0 in the third when Thomas doubled, went to third on a single by Oglivie and tallied on a sacrifice fly by Ted Simmons.

The Brewers closed out the scoring in the fifth on a double by Cecil Cooper and run-scoring triple by Oglivie. Pete Vuckovich, although needing relief, picked up his third win of the season. [The Sporting News]
