The Mets snapped their nine-game losing streak, edging the Giants, 4-3, on a sacrifice fly by Alex Trevino in the 10th inning. The score was 3-3 when Lee Mazzilli led off the 10th with a walk. One out later, Joel Youngblood got an infield hit and Dave Kingman dropped a single to short center to load the bases. Trevino then lofted a fly ball to center and Mazzilli easily beat the throw home to tally the winning run. Jeff Reardon worked two scoreless frames of relief to earn the victory.
