A two-run single by Darrell Evans in the 15th inning keyed a three-run rally that lifted the Giants to a 6-3 triumph over the Astros. The game was tied, 3-3, going into the 15th, when the Giants loaded the bases on a walk to Johnnie LeMaster, a forceout, single by Enos Cabell and walk to Jack Clark.

Evans then dropped a single into right-center to plate two runs and Jerry Martin followed with a run-scoring single. The Giants had taken a 3-2 lead in the top of the 14th on an RBI single by Martin, but the Astros knotted the count in the bottom of the frame on a sacrifice fly by Alan Ashby. [The Sporting News]
