Erupting for four runs in the top of the 10th inning, the Dodgers posted a 9-6 triumph over the Reds. The game was tied, 5-5, in the 10th when the Dodgers began their winning rally with one-out singles by Ron Cey and Pedro Guerrero. After both runners advanced on a groundout, Pepe Frias was given an intentional walk to load the bases.

Pinch-hitter Joe Ferguson and Bill Russell then drew successive bases on balls to force home two runs, and Ken Landreaux climaxed the frame with a two-run single. The Dodgers had tied the score in the ninth on a pinch-homer by Jay Johnstone. [The Sporting News]
