Run-scoring singles by Steve Dillard and Ivan DeJesus enabled the Cubs to come from behind in the seventh inning, and Ken Reitz provided insurance with a two-run double in the eighth in a 6-4 triumph over the Expos. The Cubs trailed, 3-2, in the seventh when Jerry Morales stroked a one-out single and Reitz was hit by a pitch.

After Woodie Fryman replaced Ray Burris on the mound for the Expos and Hector Cruz popped out, Dillard, pinch-hitting for Rick Reuschel, singled to score Morales and DeJesus followed with a single that plated Reitz.
