. . . where the 1970s live forever!

The A's won both ends of a doubleheader from the Blue Jays, 6-5 in a 12-inning first game and 5-0 in the second game as Mike Norris became the league's first seven game winner. After the Jays went ahead, 5-4, in the top of the 11th inning of the opener on a run-scoring single by Garth Iorg, the A's knotted the count in the bottom of the frame on a solo homer by Tony Armas. Rob Picciolo opened the A's 12th with a walk, reached second on a sacrifice and scored on a single by Rickey Henderson.

The A's got all of their runs in the second game in the third inning on singles by Picciolo, Henderson and Dwayne Murphy and back-to-back homers by Cliff Johnson and Armas. [The Sporting News]
