Dave Stieb, pitching his fifth complete game in 10 starts, permitted five hits in leading the Blue Jays to a 3-1 triumph over the Angels. The Jays scored in the third inning when Willie Upshaw was hit by a pitch, raced to third on a single by Ernie Whitt and came home on a single by Alfredo Griffin.
