Combined four-hit pitching by Vida Blue and Al Holland carried the Giants to a 3-1 triumph over the Astros. The score was 1-1 going into the bottom of the eighth inning when Dave Bergman drew a leadoff walk and moved to second on a sacrifice by Bill North. After Enos Cabell struck out, Jack Clark lined a single to left to break the tie. Clark went to second on the throw to the plate and scored on a single by Jerry Martin. [The Sporting News]
