The Blue Jays dealt Oakland its ninth consecutive road loss, defeating the A's, 6-3. The Jays jumped to a 2-0 lead in the second inning on a two-run double by Ernie Whitt and upped their margin to 3-0 in the third on a solo homer by Barry Bonnell. Alfredo Griffin stroked a two-run single in the fourth and Danny Ainge capped the Jays' scoring with an eighth-inning squeeze bunt. [The Sporting News]
