A homer by Graig Nettles in the bottom of the 11th inning lifted the Yankees to a 2-0 triumph over the Orioles. Dave Winfield got a one-out infield single in the 11th and, one out later, Nettles connected for the circuit. The Orioles had a runner on third base with nobody out in the top of the 10th but failed to score as Ron Davis retired the side on an infield out, strikeout and fly. [The Sporting News]
