A triple by Orlando Sanchez keyed the Cardinals to an 11-inning 3-2 victory over the Expos.  The game was tied, 2-2, when Sanchez began the bottom of the 11th with a triple. After pinch-hitter Steve Braun was called out on strikes, Tommy Herr singled through the drawn-in infield to end the game. The Redbirds had deadlocked the contest in the 10th on a leadoff homer by George Hendrick after the Expos had broken a 1-1 tie in the top of the frame on a run-scoring single by Tim Raines.
