A three-run eruption in the top of the 13th inning lifted the Brewers to a 5-2 victory over the Indians. Marshall Edwards opened the 13th with a single and when Roy Howell's sacrifice bunt was thrown into center field by catcher Bo Diaz, Edwards reached third and Howell went to second.

After Cecil Cooper drew an intentional walk, Edwards scored on a sacrifice fly by Ben Oglivie. The other two runners advanced on the long fly and Gorman Thomas followed with a two-run single. [The Sporting News]
