. . . where the 1970s live forever!

Allowing just five hits in eight innings, Jim Beattie notched his first victory of the season as the Mariners posted a 4-1 triumph over the Angels. A two-run double by Tom Paciorek gave the Mariners a 2-1 lead in the third frame and they added another marker in the fifth on singles by Rick Auerbach and Lenny Randle and a double-play grounder by Bruce Bochte. Richie Zisk belted a solo homer in the eighth. Angels second baseman Bobby Grich extended his hitting streak to 15 games. [The Sporting News]
