Sparked by the hitting of Greg Luzinski and Bill Almon, the White Sox downed the Red Sox, 4-2. The score was 2-2 when Almon led off the seventh inning with a single and, two outs later, reached third on a single by Carlton Fisk. Luzinski, who had doubled and tripled earlier, then cracked a two-bagger to plate Almon. Almon provided insurance with a leadoff homer in the ninth. [The Sporting News]
