The Brewers swept a doubleheader from the Indians, taking the first game, 6-5, and capturing the nightcap, 6-1. A solo homer by Roy Howell snapped a 3-3 tie in the fifth inning of the opener and Robin Yount, who had tied the game with a bases-empty round-tripper in the fourth, singled home Milwaukee's final run in the seventh.

Cecil Cooper hit two solo homers in the second game. His first shot came in the first inning and the second broke a 1-1 tie in the sixth. Cooper was 7-for-9 in the twin-bill, with 16 total bases. [The Sporting News]
