Knocking out Jerry Reuss with a three-run rally in the seventh inning, the Braves prevailed over the Dodgers, 6-4. Doubles by Chris Chambliss and Bruce Benedict accounted for Atlanta's first run in the second inning and the Braves picked up an unearned marker in the sixth on singles by Bob Horner and Dale Murphy and a wild throw by Reuss.

The seventh-inning runs came on a run-scoring single by Rufino Linares and a two-run double by Murphy. Steve Bedrosian received credit for his first major league victory and Al Hrabosky recorded his first save of the season. [The Sporting News]
