A solo homer by Mike Heath with one out in the bottom of the 13th inning enabled the A's to outlast the Angels, 8-7. California had manufactured a 6-6 tie in the top of the ninth on an RBI single by John Harris and took a 7-6 lead in the top of the 10th on Bobby Grich's second homer of the game.
