. . . where the 1970s live forever!

A pinch-hit homer by Andre Thornton in the seventh inning was the big blow as the Indians sank the Mariners, 5-2. The game was tied, 2-2, when Thornton walloped his round-tripper. Doubles by Thornton, Rick Manning and Tom Veryzer produced two insurance runs in the ninth. Tom Paciorek, the league's leading hitter, raised his average to .347 with two hits in three at-bats.
