Extending his batting streak to 21 games, Bobby Grich hit a homer and two singles to lead the Angels to a 6-3 triumph over the Orioles. The Angels broke a 1-1 tie with a four-run fourth inning.

Grich opened the frame with a single and scored on a two-out triple by Bobby Clark. A single by Butch Hobson plated Clark and successive singles by Rod Carew, Rick Burleson and Fred Lynn produced two more markers. Grich's round-tripper led off the fifth. [The Sporting News]
