After the Sox tied the contest on a sacrifice fly by Julio Valdez in the top of the fifth, the A's went ahead to stay in the bottom of the frame on a run-scoring double by Dave McKay. Cliff Johnson drilled a solo homer in the sixth. [The Sporting News]
