Brilliant relief pitching by Ed Farmer enabled the White Sox to post a 6-5 triumph over the Yankees. Farmer entered the game with runners on first and second and nobody out in the eighth inning and slammed the door. The Sox had broken a 5-5 tie in the sixth on a triple by Ron LeFlore and sacrifice fly by Mike Squires. Two Yankee errors gave the Sox four unearned runs in the third inning. [The Sporting News]
