A wild throw by Cleveland shortstop Jerry Dybzinski in the 10th inning enabled the Mariners to shade the Indians, 4-3. The score was 3-3 when Joe Simpson doubled with one out in the bottom of the 10th. Bud Bulling then grounded to Dybzinski, who threw to third in an attempt to get Simpson, but the ball went past third baseman Toby Harrah and Simpson scored the winning run. [The Sporting News]
