A three-run pinch-homer by Brian Asselstine in the seventh inning lifted the Braves to a 5-2 triumph over the Mets. The Braves trailed, 2-0, when Dale Murphy and Glenn Hubbard stroked one-out singles in the seventh.

After Bruce Benedict bounced into a forceout, Asselstine belted a 3-1 pitch for his second round-tripper of the year. Atlanta added another run later in the frame on an RBI single by Claudell Washington, and Benedict singled home the Braves' final run in the eighth. [The Sporting News]
