Alan Bannister singled to score Mike Hargrove with the winning run as the Indians outdueled the Mariners, 6-5 in 14 innings. Hargrove and Chris Bando singled off reliever Dick Drago before Toby Harrah flied out, setting the stage for Bannister's deciding blow.

Pinch-hitter Pat Kelly's two-run single was the key blow when the Tribe rallied to tie the score, 5-5, in the ninth. Reliever Mike Stanton allowed one hit in 5 2/3 innings to earn the decision. [The Sporting News]
