John Denny and Mike Stanton combined on a five-hitter to lead the Indians to a 6-3 victory over the Angels. The Tribe tallied three runs in the third inning on a bases-loaded walk to Mike Hargrove, sacrifice fly by Ron Hassey and RBI single by Toby Harrah. Andre Thornton smacked a two-run homer in the sixth and Hassey added another sacrifice fly in the seventh. The game was delayed 11 minutes in the third inning by a brawl after Denny hit Dan Ford with a pitch. [The Sporting News] |
