. . . where the 1970s live forever!

The Angels fought back from two deficits to triumph over the Red Sox, 8-7 in 10 innings. The Sox jumped to a 6-0 lead in their first turn at bat but the Angels tied the contest at 6-6 on a two-out, run-scoring single by pinch-hitter John Harris in the ninth.

After Jim Rice's homer in the 10th gave the Sox a 7-6 lead, the Angels came back in the bottom of the frame. Rick Burleson singled and Fred Lynn was hit by a pitch, bringing on Bob Stanley in relief of Tom Burgmeier. A sacrifice by Brian Downing moved the runners along and Don Baylor received an intentional walk to load the bases. Bobby Grich's broken-bat single to left plated the tying and winning runs.
