. . . where the 1970s live forever!

Dave Righetti and Rich Gossage combined on a three-hitter as the Yankees whitewashed the Twins, 7-0. Willie Randolph opened the game with a double and two outs later scored on a double by Reggie Jackson. Oscar Gamble hit a solo homer in the third inning and the Yanks iced the contest with a four-run eruption in the sixth, the key blow being a two-run single by Barry Foote with the bases loaded.
