The Pirates ended a seven-game losing streak with a 10-inning 5-4 triumph over the Dodgers. The score was 4-4 when Willie Montanez began the 10th with a pinch-single. Omar Moreno, attempting to sacrifice, reached first base safely on an error by third baseman Derrel Thomas.

Lee Lacy then beat out a bunt to load the bases and Bill Madlock followed with a sacrifice fly. The Dodgers loaded the bases with two out in the bottom of the frame but Steve Sax hit into a forceout to end the game. [The Sporting News]
