The Tigers dealt the White Sox their sixth straight setback, scoring a run in the 10th inning to post a 5-4 decision. Kirk Gibson got an infield single, stole second and scored the winning run on a single to center by Ron Jackson.

In the bottom of the inning the Sox had runners on first and second and none out, but Detroit pitcher Dave Rozema picked Bill Almon off second. Rozema then survived a passed ball to notch his second save of the season. [The Sporting News]
