A suicide squeeze plated the winning run as the Twins registered a 4-3 triumph, ending the Yankees' five-game winning streak. The Twins, trailing 3-2 in the bottom of the eighth inning, got life when Hosken Powell reached first safely as Dave Winfield dropped his one-out fly ball to left for an error. Mickey Hatcher then tripled Powell home and Rob Wilfong followed with a bunt in front of the plate on which catcher Rick Cerone had no play other than to throw Wilfong out at first as Hatcher scored.
