. . . where the 1970s live forever!
The Indians swept a doubleheader from the A's, winning the first game, 2-0, behind the four-hit pitching of John Denny and capturing the nightcap, 10-4. The Tribe's runs in the opener came in the second inning when Pat Kelly opened with a single and took second on a single by Toby Harrah. Both runners advanced on a sacrifice by Ron Hassey and Rick Manning was walked intentionally to load the bases. One out later, Jerry Dybzinski delivered a two-run single to center.

The Indians exploded for seven runs in the seventh stanza of the second contest, runs coming on a two-run single by Mike Hargrove, run-scoring double by Chris Bando, RBI singles by Harrah and Manning, a throwing error and Duane Kuiper's sacrifice fly. [The Sporting News]
