. . . where the 1970s live forever!

The Angels downed the Indians, 3-1, in a game shortened to 5½ innings because of rain. The contest was slated to be the first half of a twi-night twin bill but the second game was postponed. The Angels took a 1-0 lead in the first inning on a walk and a pair of errors, and scored in the fifth on a run-scoring single by Fred Lynn. Bobby Grich doubled to lead off the sixth and was singled home by Larry Harlow. [The Sporting News]
