Driving in four runs with a homer and double, Bill Buckner led the Cubs to an 8-2 triumph over the Giants. Mike Krukow, who struck out 11, went the route for the first time this season. Buckner hit a three-run homer in the first inning and doubled home another marker in the seventh. Steve Henderson drilled a two-run triple in the seventh and also scored three times.
