A three-run homer by Terry Crowley and two bases-empty round-trippers by John Lowenstein powered the Orioles to a 5-3 victory over the A's. Crowley's blast came in the sixth inning and tied the game at 3-3, and Lowenstein immediately followed with his first four-ply wallop. Lowenstein then provided insurance with an eighth-inning smash.
