The rally began when Chet Lemon doubled and scored on a single by Wayne Nordhagen, who then reached second on a single by Jim Morrison. A single by Ron LeFlore plated Nordhagen and sent Morrison to third, from where he came in on a squeeze bunt by Jay Loviglio.
