Two homers by Dale Murphy helped Gaylord Perry pick up his 296th career victory as the Braves topped the Padres, 4-1. Murphy broke a 1-1 tie with a two-run circuit clout in the third and cracked a solo shot in the eighth. With relief help from Rick Camp, who earned his 14th save, Perry finally succeeded in winning No. 296 on his sixth try. [The Sporting News]
