. . . where the 1970s live forever!

A three-run homer by Jeff Burroughs climaxed a four-run first inning that propelled the Mariners to an 8-1 victory over the Blue Jays. Julio Cruz opened the game with a single and, one out later, reached second on a single by Tom Paciorek.

A single by Bruce Bochte plated Cruz and Burroughs then connected for the circuit. Paul Serna, hitting safely in seven straight games after being recalled September 1, stroked an RBI single in the third and Jerry Narron drilled a leadoff homer in the sixth. [The Sporting News]
